plot located in large depression; many young pines are invading the otherwise mostly open depression cetner; pondberry on margins of depression; pocosin-like veg with more p. taeda to the SE; veg outside plot consists of L. lucida, Q. virg., Liquidambar, Vaccinium, P. taeda; some Nyssa is present on depression margins; no taxodium observed; pines are badly invading, pine and l. lucida bordering pondberry colonies; pondberry looks more stressed, leaves curled up, dryer than most sites, drooping, looks bad
