plot located on N/NE edge of large, open freshwater marsh/meadow; most of the thickets of shrub bordering marsh are lyonia, this patch is lindera; to S is large, completely open meadow/marsh full of "slender marsh grass" and flowering grass, and juncus; to N/NE is plot followed by lyonia layer, i. glabra layter, then p. taeda savannah; trees just bordering marsh are p. serotina and n. biflora
