Observation Narrative |
PA type: Red Maple - Sweet Birch Hardwood Forest. This polygon is very hetergeneous with areas that are forested, (with a closed canopy), and areas that are more disturbed, (with an open canopy). There is a small, linear wetland with Nyssa sylvatica and tall shrubs (Ilex verticillata, Lindera benzoin), a forested oak-heath area, and an open area with Betula populifolia and dense Vitis. The plot overlaps with a portion of the wetland (no red maple was recorded, but other species characteristic of this community were present).
