Location Narrative
The stand is located in the Deer Creek Hills Preserve. The plot is about 1/2 mile south of the roughly "S"-shaped jog in Latrobe road, that is near the center of the reserve. The stand is on the north-facing slope of a side drainage to a larger drainage that runs east to west across the reserve. The stand is dominated by Aesculus californica with scattered emergent blue oaks. The Aesculus are all trees averaging ~4 m in height. The herb layer is composed primarily of introduced grasses with scattered native and introduced herbs.
