The stand is located in the southern portion of the Swede Creek Plains, on the Hathaway Ranch. The plot consists of herbaceous vegetation growing in an ephemeral drainage. The plot is in an area where water appears to collect and stay for periods of time during the wet season. The plot is dominated by Gratiola ebracteata with sparse overall cover. Some species on the list (i.e. the grasses) are a consequence of the plot layout and do not represent the vegetation that we attempted to capture in the plot.; There are cattle grazing on the site. This area is under conservation easement.
