Location Narrative	Vernally wet swale on the Swede Creek Plains portion of the Hathaway Ranch. This survey is of the swale bottom which is dominated by Eryngium castrense and Isoetes howellii. Other vernal pool species such as Navarretia leucocephala and Gratiola ebracteata are also present. Swales such as this are common on the Swede Creek Plains.; The ranch is under a conservation easement held by the Shasta Land Trust. The site is actively grazed by cattle.
