The plot is located in the northeast portion of the Leininger Ranch in Tehama County. The plot consists of sparse herbaceous vegetation near a ridge top with thin soils and many exposed rocks. The dominant species include Lasthenia californica, Parvisedum pumilum and Vulpia microstachys. The impact from exotic plants appears to be minimal.; This site is actively grazed by cattle, although there is little evidence of cattle in the plot. The site is under a conservation easement with The Nature Conservancy.
