The stand is located in the Sacramento Valley Conservancy's Deer Creek Hills Preserve. The plot is 1/4 mile east of the boundary between the blue oak woodland and open grassland, on a west-northwest-facing slope. Latrobe Road is visible to the west. The plot is ~1/3 mile south of Latrobe Road. There is a seasonal wash/ditch running 20 m east of the plot. The stand contains Triphysaria, Aira, and Briza minor.; The site is actively grazed by cattle, as it has been for at least the past 40 years.
