Location Narrative ? Site is on the ridge that continues downhill from Discovery Wall. The "Anvil" rock formation is at the crest of ridge. The High Peaks Trail runs northwest of plot. Vegetation trend stable because, despite numerous dead manzanita, several branches touching the ground have developed roots and continued growing. Plot is part of a mixed chamise-manzanita stand. Center of plot has a lot of manzanita, but chamise at edges maintains a balance that allows us to reach our objective of a representative plot location. Several entirely dead manzanita.
