Location Narrative
Overlook area on Condor Gulch Trail. Plot is approx. 40 m south of railing. Large boulder in plot; has vegetation growing underneath but is otherwise covered with lichens. I averaged 3 different slope readings= 32 average. Rectangular dimensions: 5 m N-S wide x 20 m (E-W) long. Lichen- Bedrock Alliance with a Pinus sabiniana tree growing next to bedrock (covers <1% of plot). Dominant lichen is Xanthoparmelia spp. plus there is a large patch of moss. Plot appears to get some foot traffic (not too much); also one section of plot is relatively flat and grasses, Selaginella are established.
