Location Narrative |
Plot is located approximately 400 m N from the Condor Gulch parking lot. It is on the east side of the hill between two drainages. Directly NE and up slope from plot #531. To the NE side of the plot, there is a sizeable (10 m2) portion containing a high percentage of nonnative species (Centaurea melitensis, Bromus madritensis rubens, etc.). Plot faces SSE and overlooks drainage leading down to Condor Gulch Trail. It is bordered on the upper slope by chamise, and on the lower slope by non-native grasses and rock. Directly facing the plot, on the opposite slope, is an impressive stand of CA sagebrush. Species composition is similar to #531.
