The stand is located in Chalone Creek, outside of the housing, immediately across from large Quercus agrifolia in the dike re-vegetation area. Stand possibly is in the five-year floodplain. Lots of CCC activity in 1950s. Old pics show the creek plowed flat and the water flowing in a ditch. 100 year flood in 1998. All annuals dead, only perrenials still alive. For macrotopography, #12 is also mentioned as a possibility (center of creek, therefore five-year flood plain). May need to relabel this alliance to: Streambed Alliance, etc. The plot is in the center of the stand between this year's washes. The plot is mostly scattered Gnaphalium canescens, with some sporadic willows and CA buckwheat. The creek runs to the south. There are some large dead, downed flood debris that is not from the present year. The alliance is very common in the creek just above the winter water level.
