Site is located approximately 20 meters west of HPVPA parking lot. Stand is on a small terrace between stream channels. This is probably a 3-5 year floodplain area. Chalone Creek underwent major flooding in 1998. It is unknown if Hirshfeldia incana was present (and removed), this year or not. Crew decided Lotus scoparius is a shrubby herb but not a shrub (per Jepson); plot size is 100 squared meters. Plot is primarily Lotus scoparius. Edge effect is seen on up stream end of stand with the presence of Gnaphallium canascens. Deer scat; animal tracks.
