Location Narrative ? The stand is located along the Bear Gulch Creek with the trail diagonally bisecting the stand. The trail runs lengthwise through the stand. The stand is very near the bottom of Bear Gulch. No sign of fire. Stand highly disturbed by the trail. Platanus is the tallest layer & the characterisitc species. The plot is situated between two distinct stands: Platanus racemosa Alliance and Ceanothus-Prunus Alliance. The stand is very small only 1000 m2 in size. There are emergent Platanus and Quercus agrifolia above the Aesculus. The stand is on the lower 1/3 of the slope, running up to the creek (but not in) and running up to the chaparral. The slope is covered in a very loose soil, scree hybrid soil.
