The stand is located on the ridge above the draw coming down NE on the saddle on the High Peaks Trail. The ridge is in between the High Peaks Trail and Condor Gulch. Land part of the original monument designations in 1908. There are fire scars on some of the emergent pines, on the ridge. No signs of fire in the stand. The plot is located in the middle of the stand. The slope is steep with an ESE-facing aspect. The stand is surrounded by chaparral: Chamise-Ceanothus. There are emergent pines sporadically on the slope.
