The stand is located across HWY 146 from the Chaparral Ranger Station. The stand is at the trailhead to the Juniper Canyon Trail. The stand is dominated by large Junipers. There are quite a few young Junipers coming up. The site may be highly disturbed; it is at the trailhead to the Juniper Canyon Trail. The plot is bordered on the N by the trail. There is some old pig damage that is very light. photos 3722-3732, new Lithophragma with moth. The plot is pretty much the entire stand. The plot is on a toeslope right before the bottom/plain of the valley. The plot is slightly convex and has a slight slope of 14 degrees in a northerly direction. CA tortoiseshell rested on Juniper in sun. Moths sleeping in Lithophragma. On hike to west side toward top of Juniper Canyon saw some Sonoran Blues at about 11:45 a.m. on an Eriogonum angulosum.
