The stand is located in The Nature Conservancy's Dye Creek Preserve. The stand is 5 m to the east of the main trail, up Dye Creek about 30 m before the trail crosses the south fork of Dye Creek. The stand is dominated by Nassella pulchra with scattered Avena fatua and some non-native forbs.; The Nature Conservancy may have fire and grazing history records.
