The plot is located in the City of Chico, Doe Mill Meadowfoam Preserve, near the NE corner of the reserve (~20 m from the east fence and ~40 m from the north fence). The plot is located in a "Tuscan swale" (as per Rod McDonald), which appears to be another habitat type for Limnanthes floccosa ssp. californica. The second habitat type at the site occupied by the species is represented by the vernal pool sampled in relevé number SNFN0081.; The site is not currently grazed, although it was likely grazed in the past.

cited in Klein et al. 2007 as SNFN0082, Unusual species present: Limnanthes floccosa ssp californica is a CNPS list 1B plant. The species has a high cover in the plot, but the number of individuals was not determined. Rod McDonald conducted a census of the entire preserve in 2005.
