The stand is located in the eastern half of the TNC Dye Creek Preserve, approximately 15 m east of Campo Seco Road, between the First Road and Second Road turnoffs. The plot is on a gentle west-facing slope with cobble throughout and gravel composing a majority of the surface. The vegetation consists of Selaginella on the rocks with Minuartia, Aira, and scattered Chorizanthe.
