Location Narrative |
Pardee Lake. The site is located on a ridge to the west of McAfee Gulch, at the south end of the gulch, to the west of the Coast to Crest Trail just before it heads down in to the gulch. The plot was selected to represent what is a heterogeneous mix of chaparral shrubs. The shrubland vegetation is relatively open with a sparse herbaceous understory and a low shrub understory of Castilleja, Mimulus, and Eriodictyon. The boundaries with the adjacent Adenostoma fasciculatum stand are indistinct.; The whole area was burned about five years ago.
