Within the Nature Conservancy's Dye Creek Preserve near Los Molinos, adjacent to Dye Creek, about 1/2 mile up trail from lodge/office. This stand lies on a terrace with braided channels and many volcanic cobbles/stones. Stand is dominated by Vitis with Populus, Platanus, and Quercus lobata. The shrub layer is well developed (Styrax, Salix) but clustered on higher channel islands. Gentle slope toward Dye Creek (S) as well as downstream (W). There were over 10 Quercus lobata seedlings observed in the uncounted side of the plot.; Historical and current grazing occurred throughout Dye Creek Preserve, but light impact now. There was a hail storm and severe weather in the past 48 hours (4 in. rain) which changed the surface coarse fragments by adding a lot of litter.
