Hog's Lake Plateau. The site is near the Sevenmile vernal pool southeast of highway 36 inside the fenced area. The plot is located northeast of the pool proper in the northeast corner of the fenced rectangle. The stand is on thin volcanic soil with a gravelly moss-covered surface. Navarretia tagetina, Vulpia microstachys, and Aira caryophyllea are major vegetation components, Paronychia ahartii is present. Standing dead Layia fremontii occurs throughout the grassland.; The fenced area has had grazing excluded for at least 5 years.
