Paynes Creek Recreation Area. The plot is in a vernal pool on the south end of the Paynes Creek wetlands. The pool is just to the north of the main trail through the wetlands (that goes south of the parking area). The plot is located in the wetter of two main community types, on the drying margins of this vernal pool. This stand is dominated by Navarretia and Downingia. Plot azimuth = 310 deg.; It is unknown whether this pool is natural or was created. It was certainly altered by the creation of the surrounding wetlands.
