Author Location ? Along Sutter Creek Rd., Amador County
Location Narrative ? The plot is located 150 m north of Sutter Creek Rd. on a seasonal unnamed creek behind the landowner's house. The herbaceous layer seems to be stable and well established along the creek edge, the trees and shrubs are increasing (due to seedlings and saplings) and inhabit more of the upslope area, but are still associated with the creekside alliance. The creek is flowing now, water depth is generally 3-5 inches. Hardwood cover includes trees which have trunks/stems not in the plot, but canopy cover over the plot.; This stand is not grazed, the hillside on the west of the creek was cleared about 10 years ago, and there was a historic logging road that went up the creek bed that is no longer visible. The Quercus lobata is not yet leafed out.
