Author Location ? Tuolumne Table Mountain
Location Narrative ? Upland island on Tuolumne Table Mtn. Island soil differences apparently created by gopher activity. There are many holes and mounds wherever this vegetation type occurs. Gophers may have created the upland. Soil is extremely gravelly loam. Erodium, 2 Bromes, and 2 Vulpias dominate the stand with Lasthenia, Lupinus nanus, Layia, Clarkia, and Trifolium variegatum. This table site is composed primarily of vernally wet stands of Lasthenia, Vulpia microstachys with upland islands sporadically rising out those wetter areas (now dry).; Evidence of extreme gopher activity is present, mounds and holes. Site was horse grazed until the mid-80's. Now it is privately owned with no major activity except for a few botanists in the early spring.
