Upper Atigun River, about 2 km north of bridge below Atigun Pass. Field relevé number 75 is the nomenclatural type relevé of Epilobio-Salicetum alaxensis polemonietosum acutiflori subass. Schickhoff et al.2002. A tall willow shrub community, this subassociation occurs primarily on gravelly montane stream banks in the Brooks Range up to an elevation of about 1200 m. Character species include Salix alaxensis, Epilobium latifolium, Aster sibiricus, Trisetum spicatum. Environmental data are primarily from author with the remainder from Schickhoff et al.
