In Cooper (1986b), releves marked as Association Oxytropido nigrescentis-Salicetum dodgeanae. Vegetation of xeric limestone bedrock (rock faces and summits). Plant cover is open and soils are skeletal. Vegetation is prostrate and lichens are abundant. Stands occur on rounded, bedrock exposures which are largely bare rock.
