Observation Narrative ? This stand, about 1.3 miles N of Umiat, was located midway up the south-facing slope which extended from the floodplain to the upland. It had an average of 10 inches and maximum of 20 inches. Slump holes and mounds with abrupt down-slope faces resulting from soil movement were numerous in occurrence. Surface drainage was well-developed, consisting of microchannels varying in form from cracks to channels, well rounded in cross section, and with a maximum width of 12 inches and an average of 7 inches.
