This less inundated fringe community is occupied by a mix of graminoids with no apparent dominant, but appears to be distinct as there are clear lines between where forest begins and this community ends. To the west, this stand fades quickly to a Carex stricta type. The upland edge has some upland species on hummocks and a few pools of water have species more representative if more inward types. There seems to be something maintaining this stand. -- This area is at the lower end where the wetland becomes more narrow. This section of the wetland seems to have good context, as no roads or game plots are nearby. Although I think it to be distinctive, I wonder if this stand is becoming more inundated.
