Walk south on AT from Buck Gap; at contours around Doe Knob then aligns on the ridgetop; at 4300', cut off the AT to the SW; follow ridge line down to where it flattens; plot center is just south of a lrg. double stemmed chestnut oak.
Dry ridgeline nose slope; evidence of major disturbance in the past. Probably highgraded at some point. -- Above plot near the ridge is red oak forest; Entire area has scattered large trees with pole sized and shrubby stuff coming up all over. Looks like area was highgraded.
