From McCampbell Gap, walk south, downslope to approx. 4000 ft. in elevation. Look for tags on trees approx. 15 meters east of the dry draw. Below plot, the draw turns into a thick rhododdendron thicket. Plot has an open understory.
Area has a diverse species composition, appears to be two age classes. Closed canopy and not much of a shrub layer. -- Stand composition appears similar throughout this draw, from the gap down past where the plot is laid out. Valley takes on thick rhodo below plot, however overstory stays similar.
Representativeness
Plot is representative of the slope down to 4000 feet, where the rhodo kicks in.
