From Grotto Falls Trailhead follow trail to split that heads toward Rainbow Falls and begin to follow draw south toward Rocky Spur. There is water in this watershed which you can follow all the way through rhodo. Plot is above water on left slope of creek
A slightly concave slope but relatively broad open cove. There are many large rocks that are well spaced. -- Boulderfield Forest to the west. Grades to rich cove below.

Several old pit mounds. Grove of large Hemlocks most >100 cm dbh. Herb stratum dominated by Dryopteris intermedia and Cymophyllus. Not exactly my concept of Hemlock-Silverbell because there's not alot of silverbell and some Y.birch, beech, and S.maple.
