Steep, southwest facing midslopes with rocky, shallow soil and exposed bedrock with stunted woodland dominated by chestnut oak with ericads in the understory. -- Appears to have same aerial photo signature as entire SE flank of Maryland Heights, however on southwest flank below this plot adjacent communities include small patches of stunted red oak/white ash and virginia pine woodlands and herbaceous communities associated with cliffband.
