Broad cove. Canopy is patchy. Several standing dead snags. From canopy down, several strata. -- Bordered uphill by high elevation red oak. Probably rich cove further below.

Interesting place. Transitional between high elevation red oak and northern hardwoods, except there is abundant sugar maple. Wonder how selective the hogs are...would there be more herb species without hogs?
