Many medium sized rocks at surface. Very little coarse woody debris. Appx 200 m upslope of creek. -- Steep cliffs/slopes across creek. Several shagbark hickory just below plot. Upslope unknown. Gully to the west is wetter and has more Laportea.

Odd canopy composition given rich cove herb strata. Strongly suspect logging produced this oddity, plus proximity to low elevation riverine vegetation. 3 large canopy sycamore was surprising.
