Slight concave side-slope of gap. No exposed rock. A and B soil samples collected, no rocks. B is whitish soil. -- Transitions below to Poplar Successional stand.

Is this a rich montane oak-hickory forest? Desmodium is dominant herb and could be a product of deer browse... Definetely not a xeric site despite its topoposition. Should be interesting to see what the soil fertility is like (I predict high Ca).
