From Indian Flat campground on Hwy 140 take Indian Flat Rd south approx. 1 mile to locked gate. From gate, go through 4 switchbacks. Plot is 2/3 of way along next traverse (will see one large Pinus attenuata) in plot close to road.)
Phenologically early. Closed canopy of Quercus chrysolepis. Understory not very diverse--mostly poison oak and fern. Umbellularia californica trees tall and gangly, attempting to reach light.
