Observation Narrative
This PINCON "forest" has been heavily impacted by bark beetle. It's very open with lots of downed logs (PINCON). The area is clearly visible on the aerial photo. No BPU here, but we thought it was worth sampling because it was so distinct. PINCON age
Sandy clay loam. Soil is chestnut brown when dry with about 5% small rock and gravel. Did find a few large rocks that are rounded and smooth. Soil makes a good 1+in ribbon.
