Looks to be pocket of aeolian soils possibly; is a slight depression with wet shrub variety types to side; no rock in upper 10-20 cm; very clay and silt rich soils with dark organic horizon at least 3 dm deep.

Fairly representative; seems to be quite variable stand in regard to overstory with PINCON mixed wit
Stand about 80 years old since stand-replacing event; the PINCON is starting to die off at (8-12" dbh class); PICENG just getting established though trees in stand "4" and well scattered.

Browsing on CORSER and AMEALN heavy; jays and woodpeckers in canopy.
