This pocket of PSEMEN/ARNCOR is clearly visible on the aerial photo. It lies in a shallow swale that is quite moist compared to the surrounding woodland areas. PSEMEN age is about 225 yrs.
Soil is light gray and quite gravelly (10-20%). Some red argillite present (argillite cliffs and bedrock above and below us), but lots of gray and tan rock. Also found very soft, bright orange small rock-sized chunks that easily broken apart. Charcoal
