SPIBET is patchy throughout entire PSEMEN forest on this side of St. Mary Lake. The forest is dense, and where openings occur (due to blowdown) SPIBET is present. This particular stand is pretty open, so more SPIBET has established and other species are
Sandy clay loam. Soil is very light gray. Could be confused with ash, but not in thin layer and quite gritty and gravely with larger chunks of red and green argillite. Matrix is very fine. Rock is both angular and more rounded bits.
