Visible on aerial photo as long strip, not as blue-green as valley oak and smaller diameter trees located in Garden Cove tract. Black willow stand in long, narrow, east-to-west running strip with Leymus encroaching on north side and mixed weeds encroaching from north to south sides, located in San Joaquin National Wildlife Refuge, south of highway 132 and north of San Joaquin River. Willows are on a slight slope between oak stands of lower shelf above river, willows might flood annually. Stand only includes under willow canopy.
