Location Narrative |
Note of past bioturbation, I was falling into holes throughout the stand but found no upturned earth. Litter had covered all bioturbation, so assumed it was past bioturbation. Populus fremontii stand in undeveloped park lands at Avocado Lake. Open stand with Leymus triticoides as the dominant understory herb. To the SE and NW there is a slight rise in elevation outside of the stand where Bromus diandrus becomes dominant and at least to the SE Quercus lobata becomes the dominant tree and Populus fremontii does not persist.
