Location Narrative ? Salix exigua stand on NW side of San Joaquin River. Shorter (not greater than 3 m) younger willow then the willow stand to the SW with a somewhat dense grass understory dominating. Closer to and at the water's edge there is a greater diversity of herbaceous cover. Width of stand undulates between 2 and 10 m and the length of the stand runs along the river for ~60 m.
