In San Joaquin River NWR. S of Stanislaus River. S of end of Beckwith Rd. Mixed Quercus and Acer stand with open, densly covered understory. Galium, Bromus, and Hordeum (Galium especially) form a thick mat of now dried vegetation on the ground. Trees quite evenly distributed throughout stand, including young Acers. Rubus concentrated in patch toward edge of stand.
