Transect endpoints are permanently marked with rebar. Distance and compass bearing measurements to the plot location with measurements of plot orientation off the transect were taken. GPS coordinates for each corner of the plot was taken with submeter accuracy.; 36m transect 208 degrees SW plot at 19-21m on N side; Environmental comments: "fairly flat, tussocks formed by Andropogon and Chamaecyparis."

Landscape Narrative |
Soil Texture: Organic - muck.
Size: "This is a long, linear community - comparable to Long Savanna - One of the best."; Abiotic physical factors: ""Muck over sand. Some seepage apparent on NE side, channel only visible on S end."; "Water quality probably good - some cranberry farms (abandoned?) upstream, but savannah "inland" from river influences. - mostly groundwater seepage."; Landscape Structure and Extent: "Burned pitch pine upland and lowland on NE, cedar swamp on SW. Road in between."; Surrounding Landscape: "Cedar swamp in excellent condition pitch pine forest - frequent intense fires."; Hydrology influenced by groundwater seepage and rainfall.; Found in Nescohague-Mullica Watershed.

Observation Narrative |
Community Type: Pine Barrens savanna
Evidence of Community Processes: "flooding, browsing, tussock formation"
General Comments: "The EO is not as diverse as Batsto sedge savanna but it does have uncommon species, e.g., Lacnanthes, not found in many other savannas. It does have all the typical species.";
Species Composition and Biological Structure: "Fairly wet and level so spp diversity isn't as high as sedge savanna on Batsto.";
Fauna: praying mantis
Other associated species present but not in plot: Sphagnum papillosum, Carex livida, Bartonia paniculata, Lobelia canbyi.
