Observation Narrative ? Community Type: Pine Barrens savanna General Description: Ilex very healthy-robust. Additional sp - Lachnanthes. Muhlenbergia torreyana filling in. Mats of Muhlenbergia uniflora. Dense Panicum ensifolium under dead cadars. Monoculture of Muhlenbergia torreyana with occassional Lobelia. Dwarf cedar - dead (burned). Sever fire in 1997. Dense turf mat of Muhlenbergia tussocks about 2-4 cm high, burned out in between. Other associated species present but not in plot: Andropogon glomeratus, Carex exilis, Lycopodium alopecuroides, Sarracenia purpurea. Deer tracks present.
