Transect endpoints are permanently marked with rebar. Distance and compass bearing measurements to the plot location with measurements of plot orientation off the transect were taken. GPS coordinates for each corner of the plot was taken with submeter accuracy.; Transect is 58 m long, 236 degrees SW and 56 degrees NE: plot at 41-43 m on N side.

"Most of this huge savanna is dominated by Cladium, edge of Panicum virgatum E, Muhlenbergia torreyana W, channels and low spots - Juncus militaris".
Soil Texture: Organic - muck
Hydrologic Influence: river overflow and backflooding, lateral groundwater seepage;
Watershed: Mullica River
Environmental Comments: wrack deposits from flooding, flat microtopography - wet much of the growing season.; Diagnostic Species: Cladium mariscoides, Juncus canadensis, Juncus militaris.

General Description from Transect (25-48m): Cladium.; Local Topography: broad, flat - edges of savanna tussocky, levee to E, hummocks cedars W.; "Some areas of this savanna have a lot of Euthamia (~40%)".; Other associated species present but not in plot: Panicum virgatum, Dichanthelium scabriusculum, Juncus pelocarpus, Viola lanceolata, Glyceria obtusa; Praying mantis present.
