Layout Narrative
Plot is 20 x 20 m, located at 41-61 m on the south side of the transect. Transect endpoints are permanently marked with rebar. Distance and compass bearing measurements to the plot location with measurements of plot orientation off the transect were taken. GPS coordinates for each corner of the plot was taken with submeter accuracy.

Community Type: calcareous sinkhole pond
General Description: This community occupies the lowest portion of calcareous sinkhole ponds and is characterized by deep organic deposits overlying marl or carbonate bedrock. This vegetation may also occur more widely in the northeast in areas underlain by calcareous bedrock.
Other associated species present but not in plot: Carex retrorsa, Carex stricta, Carex lupulina, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Vaccinium corymbosum.
10YR 2/1 organic muck, silty - greasy with areas of peat and roots, pH at 20.3 cm (muck) = 6.2 (blue); H3, 10YR 2/2 or redder, pieces of decomposed wood
