Community Type: calcareous sinkhole pond
General Community Description: Rich calcareous forest on a steep rocky slope with outcrops of dolomite. Mature trees average 12-14" DBH. Characteristic species include Acer saccharum, Fraxinus americana. Liriodendron tulipfera, Tilia americana, Betula nigra, Tsuga canadensis, Hamamelis virginiana, Lindera bnzoin, Rubus sp., Cystopteris bulbifera, Adiantum pendatum, Dryopteris marginalis, Oryzopsis asperifolia, Caulophyllum thalictroides, Hepatica acutiloba, Senecio obovatus, Carex spp.
